Yes, there were a lot of idiots in the fandom. There still are a few. Any fandom will have fascists, perverts, and pedophiles. Naturally, you have to be careful when dealing with this kind of thing. It’s always good to be critical of the media you consume. Hetalia itself isn’t inherently nazi, but some of its fans can be. Fanart is fanart, anyone can make it.

The Hetalia characters didn’t commit genocide, the governments did. If you think that they did, I doubt you watched the show or read the manga. I’ve heard that people have been driven to suicide for being Hetalia fans
